My name is Emily Pehrson.  I have been tutoring and/or teaching since 1970.  I began tutoring fellow students when I started college.  Many of my students were high school graduates who had "slipped through the cracks" and were functionally illiterate.  They needed help learning how to do the most basic academic skills.  One of my college professors came to me and explained the aforementioned problem.  That was the beginning of my many wonderful and fulfilling experiences in teaching.

My qualifications include, but are in no means limited to:

• Graduated from Utah Technical College at Provo, AA in Business Management and Interior Design (Dual Major)


• Graduated from Brigham Young University, BA Youth Leadership and Business Management (Dual Major )


• Graduated from Southern Utah State College, BA Elementary Education and Psychology (Dual Major)

      At present, I am following a lifelong dream of having my own little school.  I have developed a Christian based alternative private school for grades one through eight, with one class of no more than twelve children and myself as teacher.  I have high hopes.  I believe each child is born to succeed, and that each has their own special gifts and talents.
      This is an opportunity to make a difference in the futures of the children we all love.  Parents may be asked to share their knowledge or talents in school sponsored programs, field trips or activities.
